Being on the sidelines
of the field of life
She sat on the bench in the
Hardest game to be played
The Waiting Game.
Waiting to be picked
Waiting to play
Waiting to take part in all the
Experiences life had to offer.
Days turned to months
And
Months transpired into years.
And
She was still on that bench watching the world tick on
Pass her up.
Pass her by.
She thought about doing things her way.
Make her own choices.
Ignore the Coach’s orders
And
Follow her own plan.
But the captain told her the coach knew best.
He knew things she didn’t know
Things she couldn’t see.
So, she remained in her seat
And that’s when she realized
Of all the virtues to acquire
Patience was the hardest of them all.
