It was a mistake
Those two knocks at the door last night was supposed to be the delivery guy
Everything was fine
Getting back on track
Before he stood in front of her door
Dressed in threads that unraveled her defenses
She went against her common sense
Allowed him to cross her threshold
As she sat next to him submerging in his delirious temptation
Intoxicating her with chocolate and bergamot
He conjured up memories of what they used to be
Constructing ideas of what they could be
Moving back into the room she built for them in her heart
In the morning when daylight came
She was already awake
She heard the front door locked back in place
And that’s when she remembered
He was her greatest mistake
