Half Full

Bright-eyed and full of wonderment

You get released in the world with a piece of paper and well-wishes

A glass full of hopes, dreams, and aspirations

Onto a playing field rigged with landmines and grenades

Stripping you of that youthful guise and candy-coated line of thinking

No longer believing that hard work will get you anywhere

Since working hard is all you did

No longer skipping down the yellow brick road

Pep and cheer has gotten you nowhere

Your an outsider looking in

Left on the side

Not knowing the recipe

Or the secret code

To unlock the next level

You start looking at your cup of life as half-full

How do you refill your cup of optimism after the trials and failures of life cause some spillage? I create, bake, and workout.
