Every four years there is an election
A race is run not by the fastest of athletes
But by people vying to be the commander–in chief
People that orate elegantly organized words
Dressed up in cloth dripping with luxury
They speak of the problems reeking havoc on the people
Action plans they seek to implement
They feel your pain although they’ve never been in your community
Or travelled there without a camera
Or a journalist sniffing out their trail
They’ve even earned your trust as you gave them a seat in the hallowed halls of Congress
They say they’ll do what needs to be done
When their track record negates every word they utter
In a system of two dominant parties
With two choices
What’s a person to do when they have to decide which one of the two ills should earn their vote?
Do you vote for the liar?
Or the egomaniac?
Choices, Choices, Choices
Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.
Counting down to Election Day to see what you decide.
